A little on emotional nihilism

As comforting as it might feel to be actually moving on, the process poses an existential threat to the philosophical grounds on which our social constructs for love are based.

You keep making very sounds arguments for how special someone is, how absolutely good it is to be with them, and how you are so meant to be together. Then, as time takes its course, you simply disavow all these well-established arguments in an instant. Furthermore, if you're the overthinking type, you, then, are left with very disturbing thoughts questioning the validity of your emotions and emotional judgement altogether in what resembles the notorious nihilistic 'devaluation of all values'.

As a devoted absurdist, I'm surprised that I'm surprised at this!
